ACW September 26, 2009

So the last ACW show we had was definitely one of my faves, due to the fact that it was my first OFFICIAL match! Now, back in August, our heavyweight championship changed when now retired Dr. Death Steve Williams beat Franco D'Angelo, but since Doc retired, that left the belt vacated. So ACW threw another lottery tournament to crown a new champion. As luck would have it, my surprise opponent turned out to be my good friend and former ACW owner, Brandon Bishop. And the surprise match, and 'I Quit' match. The object of this particular match is to physically make your opponent say "I Quit". Make sure to watch the entire show, but for you hardcore Danger fans, my match is the first match on Part II. Enjoy!

Pikes Peak Challenge (a wee late)

Ah yes, the Colorado mountain air and a full day of hiking.. not to mention the 40 degree weather at the base! For the second year in a row, I participated in the Pikes Peak Challenge, raising money for the Brain Injury Association of Colorado. Now, I did it last year, and it was a gorgeous day, so I figured that's what I'd be getting this time around, not the case. I hoped it wouldn't stand in the way of accomplishing my goal time of 8 hours (last year I did it in 9.5 hours). I had the start time of 5:10am. The first half of the hike was a bit tough, as my body was going through cold and hot flashes due to me sweating, then the cold air cooling it off, just a little uncomfortable. We hit Barr Camp right around 8am. We re stocked on water and got some food in our bellies. After a half hour of resting, we started the second half of the hike. From there I found my rythm and just went for it, no stops. That is until i got to A Frame, which marks 3 miles left of the hike. Mind you, the entire morning was chilly and foggy and a little wet, but when I reached A Frame, the fog cleared and we actually had blue sky! And just as quick as the fog rolled out, it came right back, this time bringing wind and snow. But, I'd been walking so intensely that I didn't even feel it. I finally finished the Challenge at 1:10pm.. so if you're doing the math, you'll see that I hit my target time DEAD ON! I enjoyed it, I think a little more this year. But I WILL be back to do it again next year, which marks the 25th anniversary of the challenge.. next year: 7 hours! Here's some pics of the hike!

Saturday August 15th, 2009

A day that will forever stay lodged into my memory bank! ACW's 7th anniversary AND my last night as The Voice of ACW! This show was highly emotional going into. This would be Dr. Death Steve Williams' last night wrestling, and we're honored he chose ACW to end his illustrious career. Doc unfortunately has had a long bout with throat cancer, and after being almost 5 years cancer free, his cancer came back. A big thanks to wrestlerrescue.org, which is spearheaded by former WWE/ECW diva Dawn Marie. Her and Doc have become very close and she's devoted a lot of her time to raise money so that Doc could get a vocal implant so that he wouldn't have to use his hands to speak. Well, in true ACW fashion, we surprised Doc with the lovely Dawn Marie.. surreal to see that take place in our ring! We were able to get videos from legends such as Greg Valentine, Demolition and Jerry 'The King' Lawler! Doc would later go onto win the ACW Heavyweight Championship in a very emotional match. This show would also turn into a memorable night for yours truly. I got myself into a battle royal, where the winner would receive an ACW wrestling contract. I was able to pull out all the stops and get the victory and the contract! This has been a dream come true for me. Anyone who knows me can tell you how deep my love for professional wrestling goes, and I'm very excited to begin this journey with ACW. On top of having an emotional night, we packed the house with an ACW record of 500+ people! The show from top to bottom was beautifully put together, and i think it's safe to say, we left those 500 people with a damn good show. I'll go ahead and post the highlight videos below, make sure to watch all three videos (make sure to pay close attention to part 2 starting at the 2:00 mark). The next show is September 26th at the Phil Long Expo Center, make sure to check out the show and see yours truly make my OFFICIAL ACW wrestling debut!

This is my favorite time of the month, all the guys from outta town come out and it's great seeing all of em! I get to train in the ring tonight with my good friend Mitch, which is always a good fun, cuz he doesn't live here. Feeling all the same, familiar, awesome nerves that I get right before a show. You have nothing better to do tomorrow than coming to the Phil Long Expo Center and checking us out live, trust me :) just as a tease, I have some pics from the last show up so .. enjoy!

What A Week!

Saturday night ACW had a show at the Phil Long Expo Center. It was a hectic show, with Brandon Bishop having to go on stage the same night to perform with his band, Ginger's Hotter. However, I found myself, once again, in the midst of the action when myself, Buddah and Mike Shumaker had to take on the Zane Morris Ministry. Soo much fun! I recieved a back chop from Joesph Kincaide, left a pretty mark, I'll post the pic below. br />

The Match!

So, it came and went! April 4th, 2009 at the Phil Long Expo Center, ACW's 100th show! The card was packed, ACW originals Chris Matthews, John O'Malley, Angel Williams and of course, Brandon Bishop! Dr. Death was also in the house! I also wrestled my very first match against Mitch Carter. This was a big deal to me, as I spent about a month freaking out about it, lol. I'd have to say that I impressed myself and was very proud that I didn't stink the place up. Mitch is an amazing performer and if it wasn't for him and Buster (our referee) I couldn't have survived! The match went well, the show as a whole was even better! So, without further ado... April 4th, 2009, ACW's 100th show! My match is on Part II at the 47 second mark!

The Big Day

So, it's hard to believe, but it's here.. well, tomorrow that is. My first ever professional wrestling match. I can't stress enough how much I love the business, so it's and honor stepping in the ring with a guy who's a complete pro and someone for whom I have nothing but the most upmost respect and love for. Not to mention all the guys in the back that I feel I'm going to have to prove myself to.. I mean, why the hell is the ring announcer stepping in the ring?! If you've been reading (of course you have) I've been hitting the gym regularly now for the last couple weeks, and it's actually starting to feel pretty damn good! All for preperation for this match. Someone who's been watching over me and talking me through all the nerves I have is a fellow wrestler, Zane Morris, who is like a guru to those of us who are close to him. Last night we set the ring up at the Expo Center and got a feel for the ring again, oh how I missed it so! Zane met up with me at 8 and we 'rassled for 2 1/2 hours just to make sure I was somewhat comfortable stepping into the ring. I'll admit, I feel like I got hit by a bus! Anyone who refers to wrestling as fake, should step in a ring and tell me how it feels! My match is gonna be full of surprises that I REALLY think the fans aren't going to expect but are going to love! I'd love as many people as possible to come the show, APRIL 4TH @ THE PHIL LONG EXPO CENTER @ 7PM! LOLz ok, now that I got that out the way, here it is, the reason I'm wrestling. The first two videos are the highlights from the February 28th, 2009 show (I get my world rocked on part 2 at roughly 4:26 then I get my revenge at 7:27). The third video is just the kick I took to the neck. My brother and lifelong hetero life mate Brandon Bishop LOVED the kick, and what he says GOES! Enjoy :)
